FAQ

Frequently asked

How does a matter usually start?

With a short description of the situation and any deadline you are working to. We respond with an assessment of the matter and a proposed way of working — usually a call before any formal engagement.

Which languages do you work in?

The team works in English and Ukrainian as a matter of course, and covers Dutch, German and French through local counsel where a matter requires it.

Do you act for public authorities or governments?

We act for private companies, financial institutions and investors. Government relations is a service we provide to clients dealing with authorities — we do not appear as counsel to a state.

How are fees structured?

By fixed scope wherever the work allows it, so the commercial exposure is agreed before the work begins. Where the scope cannot be fixed in advance, we say so and agree a basis in writing.

What does the first consultation cover?

The legal position, the realistic options, the constraints, and the cost of each option. We will tell you if the matter does not need us.
